Back on Track

Finally! After wringing off about several liters of sweat and shedding some kilos of unwanted 'muscles', I managed to peek at the mirror and think I saw a slimmer and still-not-fitter me. Honestly! The reflection in the mirror was something I could not recognise initially - it was slim and quite macho looking, that for a moment I thought I was looking at a figure of some Scottish Highlander complete with a sarong! Oops! Highlanders wear kilts and not sarong, pardon me. And, well, since I have not shaved for the past 2 days, I almost did not recognise myself. You would excuse a blurry-eyed guy who is on the road to recovery after a heavy bout of fever (and with a wee bit of exaggeration thrown in), wouldn't you? But honestly, it has been a horrible week!

The fever began on Monday night. Somehow I knew it would come when I managed to beat the fever's first charge about a week or so earlier, it will always come galloping back at full charge and knock me out for good! And for the whole of Tuesday night and Wednesday, I laid on the sofa like a boxer out for the count - the fever already had me pinned down, but the medicines, they were like some heavyweight wrestler crashing down on me from the top ropes! I, was like bazooka-ed! And after nearly 24hours of being unconscious, I finally managed to wave the white flag to the fever for a truce. Yup, its still there somewhere in my body. Hopefully, it will go away by tomorrow, insyAllah.

For now, its time for me to pick up on the news of the world...and my friends.

Oh, I now have a voice even Rod Steward would die for. Hmm...now, if only I can sing.

A truce with the fever? What was the trade?

Salam Brother Shah,

Hope you'll get well soon.

Salam Cikgu,

The trade? Well, it promise to cart away some of my small sins, and that I must be nice :)

I better watch out
I better take care
I better not cry
'cause the fever's waiting out there

Adakah you demam sebab kena virus or demam kena raba dengan bekas menteri?

cakapaje said...

Salam baez-kun,

Terima kasih. Semoga kesihatan baez juga turut sembuh ye.

selsema
nak buat de-sensitization rasanya

baez, tu namanya Hay Fever. Hang kena jaga sikit time Spring ni, semua dedebu bunga tengah cari tempat untuk hinggap. Depa ni bukan ada mata tau mana nak hinggap! :)

Wa'alaikumusalam Yanie,

Oh oh! You too? Hmm...like I mentioned to baez, be careful of these pollens - they don't have licence to drive, what more fly about! lol!

Seriously, I hope you are much better already, as I am now. And thank you for the wishes :)

But there's something
tearing it apart..."

Salam Elviza,

Thank you, dear sister.

Hmm...that's a very dangerous quatrain you quoted there! lol! Still, it is one of Rod's greatest, isn't it? And aye, the first cut is always the deepest, sadly.

Yanie,

First proper meal in 3 days? Poor you. Your avatar then, perfectly fits the situation you must be in now - hungry! Hmm...I love pastries, and porridge; that's what they are, aren't they? :)

Yanie said...

i'm all okay now.. n ready to rumble...

porridge?.. i love them... but i only had banana n a slice of bread for 2 days in a row.. u know how sore throat is... pastries?... tho i dont like sugary food.. but i cant just say no to them... especially buttered croissants!

Yanie,

I love croissants too, especially when they are still warm and soft. Hmm...:)
